Delcam's Plans for Windows 7 and 64 Bit OS Support

Key Points

  • XP32/XP64 and Vista32/Vista64 will continue to be supported
  • Windows 7 64-bit will be supported in the future
  • Windows 7 32-bit will NOT be supported

Dear Customers,

Delcam currently provides 32-bit versions of its software to run on Intel x86 compatible computers running on XP32/XP64 and Vista32/Vista64.

We will begin to offer 64-bit versions of our software that will be suitable for machines with AMD64/Intel-64 (formerly known as EM64T) compatible processors, later in 2009. These products will initially be available for XP64 and Vista64.

Microsoft will introduce Windows 7 on October 22nd, 2009. We expect our existing products will run on Windows 7 without change. However, we do not plan to produce 32-bit versions of our software built and tested on Windows 7. We will only provide support for 64-bit versions of our software, running on 64-bit versions of Windows 7.

What this means for you:

  • You should ensure you buy a 64-bit operating system for any future computer purchases.
  • If upgrading to Windows 7 make sure you install the 64-bit version on any computers you intend to put ArtCAM on.
